Over Father’s Day weekend, the celebrity chef took to social media to share the details of a frightening accident. Even a week after the incident, Ramsay admitted that he was still shaken up by the experience.

In his post, Ramsay shared, “This week I was riding my bike in Connecticut when I was involved in a really bad accident. I’m doing okay; no broken bones or serious injuries, but I am pretty bruised up and look like a purple potato. Thanks for all the concern.”

As a passionate cyclist, Ramsay stressed the importance of wearing a helmet, no matter how “short the trip” or how costly the equipment may be, stating that helmets are “essential.”
