Chuck Woolery, the beloved television icon and former host of *Wheel of Fortune*, has passed away at the age of 83 after an illness. Woolery, who became known as one of the most influential figures in game show history, was remembered fondly by his peers and fans alike.

The news of his death was confirmed by his long-time friend, Mark Young, who shared the somber update on X, writing, “It is with a broken heart that I tell you that my dear brother @chuckwoolery has just passed away. Life will not be the same without him, RIP brother.”

According to Young, Woolery had been feeling unwell and decided to lie down. He later returned, mentioning that he was experiencing trouble breathing. Emergency services were called, but unfortunately, Woolery did not survive.

In addition to *Wheel of Fortune*, Woolery hosted popular game shows such as *Love Connection* and *Lingo*. In his later years, he also became known for hosting the podcast *Blunt Force Truth*, where he shared his conservative views. Woolery’s legacy as a pioneering game show host and TV personality will be deeply missed.
