Girls Visit Dad’s Grave to ‘Show’ Their New Dresses as He Asked, See 2 Boxes with Their Names – Story of the Day

Isla, 6, and Madison, 8, missed their dad, Brian.

Before he went to his heavenly home, stealing cookies at midnight, ganging up on their mom, and shopping sprees with Dad were highlights of their lives.

“Brian, stop spoiling those girls!” Linda would scold.
“I’ll spoil them forever!” he’d grin. “My girls come first, always.”

But cancer took Brian too soon. Linda couldn’t even watch him being buried. Isla and Madison, though heartbroken, held it together better than her.

Before passing, Brian made a wish: “Promise me, girls, on my birthday, you’ll dress your prettiest and come see me.”

When his birthday came, Isla pleaded, “Mommy, Daddy loved my red dress. Let’s go shopping.”
Linda hesitated, overwhelmed with grief. But Madison chimed in, “Daddy asked us, Mom. We need to go.”

Touched, Linda agreed. “Alright, let’s make Daddy proud.”

The next day, dressed in their best, the girls walked to Brian’s grave. To their surprise, two beautifully wrapped boxes awaited them.

“Daddy left us presents!” Isla giggled. Madison, more skeptical, said nothing but opened hers. Inside were pink Mary Janes and a note:

“My prettiest girls,
The angels here can’t believe how beautiful you are. These shoes are to make you shine even more. And don’t forget—steal those cookies like we used to! Be happy, laugh, and trouble Mommy a little for me. I’ll always be with you.
Love, Daddy.”

Isla laughed, “Daddy’s so silly—he thinks we’re sneaky!” Madison hugged her, finally shedding tears.

Linda, watching her girls smile through their pain, whispered, “Thank you, Brian. And thank you, my girls, for helping me find my strength.”

Lesson: Love outlasts loss, and even in heartbreak, family brings healing.
