This Boy Was Only 16 When He Lost Star Dad – 8 Years Later, He Came Out as Gay and Now Raises 2 Sons

Michael fought pancreatic cancer with all his strength, trying every possible treatment. Sadly, just three months after his diagnosis, he passed away. On June 16, 1990, he confided in his wife, Cindy, that he was dying. By the end of the month, his family was warned to prepare for the inevitable. His children gathered to say their goodbyes, and in his final moments, he told Cindy, “I love you.”

His son Christopher was just 16 when Michael passed. A year later, he opened up about the loss, recalling how he had felt unstoppable after acing a test—only to have his world shattered by the news of his father’s illness. Though grief weighed heavily on him, he eventually realized that his father’s passing taught him to live and love fully.

At 24, Christopher made another bold choice—he came out as gay. Growing up as the son of a beloved Hollywood star, he feared the backlash from the public and his religious family. But he couldn’t live a double life. He first told his mother, who struggled at first but eventually accepted him. Other family members weren’t surprised, and Cindy later revealed that Michael had already suspected it.

Christopher embraced his true self and built a beautiful life with his husband, Cody Morris. They welcomed two sons, Beau and August, filling their lives with love and joy. While they faced online hate, they remained strong, celebrating their family and proving that love always wins.

Recently, Christopher marked Beau’s fifth birthday, reflecting on how fatherhood changed him for the better. Despite challenges, he continues to live by the vow he made to his father—loving and living life to the fullest.
